As of August 31, 2023, our long-time managing director Jörg Günther has gone into active (in)retirement. With 38 years in our company, he is connected with the development of SWG like no other. For his commitment to the company, our staff and customers, we say a big thank you!!!
Mr. Günther has steered the fortunes of SWG as managing director since 1990. At the beginning, he was elected managing director by the workforce and took over the job in this difficult time. After privatization, the new shareholders also placed their trust in him. Like our former managing director Volkmar Zschage, he was thus able to demonstrate the legitimacy of employees and owners – that is motivation, trust and obligation in equal measure.
His time at SWG began in the technical department, but his passion very quickly became the sale of our products and customer service. After almost 85% of all customers were lost in one fell swoop following reunification GDR/BRD, market development was priority number 1. Hundredthousands of kilometers traveled, countless trade fairs and customer meetings laid the foundation for our steadily growing customer base. The fact that we have such a good reputation in the gravure, flexo and screen printing industry today is due to our good products … and also to the tireless efforts of Jörg Günther.
